Year 10 Exams

Year 10 students will sit their exams during Week 6 on Tuesday 19 November and Wednesday 20 November. Students will be issued with an exam timetable as per below and Year 10 Exam Guidelines. Any student who is unable to sit their exams due to illness will be required to provide a doctor’s certificate to validate their absence as outlined in the guidelines.

Students must arrive and be present in Pastoral Care Group for attendance prior to sitting their exams.

Whilst we recognise that this can be a stressful time for some, it is an opportunity for students to practice being in exam conditions and learn from this experience.

Students have taken part in a one-hour session called “Ace Your Exams” by Elevate Education in Term 3 which was designed to help students with preparation, managing stress and study tips.

STUDY DAY

If your child would like to come into school to study on Monday 18 November, please register their name here.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS / ADJUSTMENTS

Year 10 students who have been identified as being eligible for special considerations / adjustments will be notified by our Student Support Team. Any student not wishing to take up the opportunity of these considerations / adjustments are to notify Student Support. Special considerations for Year 10 exams typically include extra time and/or a separate exam space.

Eligibility for special considerations is typically based on recording of these in a Student Learning Plan as well as the current implementation of these provisions in class.

Any allowance of special considerations in Year 10 exams does not guarantee special considerations in Senior College exams. Special considerations in Senior College are approved via application to TASC.

MISSED EXAMS

Any students who do not attend exams will not be provided an alternative time to complete as this is not logistically possible. Thus, this assessment will not count towards their overall grade for the subject.

Senior College Exams

TASC Senior College Exams will be held across Week 5 and 6 from Monday 11 November until Thursday 21 November. All year levels are to be aware this is an important time for our Senior College students, and that some activities around the College will be restricted over this time period due to reducing noise levels and potential distractions for our students. We wish our Senior College students all the best in their final days of class and in preparation for exams.

The location for Senior College Exams for students without adjustments will be in the Harcombe Centre classrooms, as per Mid-Year Exams.

Location of Senior College Exams for Students with Adjustments

Due to the current building works in the College, the location of the exam rooms for adjustments will be along the Senior College corridor between Rooms 12 – 15. Some students may also use the offices located nearby. These are NOT the same locations used in the Mid-Year exams. Entrance to these rooms will be from the second external staircase from outside the Senior College corridor, noting that this section of the corridor will be closed for access from the Library and Senior College Common Room.
