It was great to have all Year levels return last week and commence their classes for 2022. Although we understand there may be disruptions this year due to COVID-19, we are well equipped to handling this at MRC through our use of MEL – please see the details below for Learning at Home during this period.

2021 Awards of Excellence Assembly

A highlight of the week was the 2021 Awards of Excellence Assembly where we were able to acknowledge outstanding achievements, both academically and culturally, from the 2021 school year.

We were pleased to welcome back several of our Year 12 graduates to this assembly as they joined our younger students. Due to taking precautions with COVID-19, unfortunately, we were not able to have our wider community present at this assembly. However, through live streaming the event, we were able to stream to all classrooms within the College and to parents, friends and our wider community, far and wide. We received excellent feedback about the live streaming, and this will be something we continue to work into our plans for years to come.

We were so pleased to acknowledge our outstanding results from 2021, having eight students from Year 12 in the top 5 percent of results in the state. Congratulations to:

Learning from Home

If your child is at home due to Covid reasons, the best way for your child to keep up with learning from home is to access their class pages on MEL. Teachers are endeavouring to keep these as up to date as possible, noting that teachers are under a lot of pressure at the moment with teaching face-to-face classes and keeping up with our MEL pages for students who are at home, so at times, there may be a delay in this information being updated. If you have any queries regarding your child’s learning, please contact the teacher directly or myself via email esass@mrc.tas.edu.au.
