This term we are looking forward to many exciting events on the calendar. On 25 May we will be holding our first whole school Mass of the year.  The Eucharistic Mass will be held in place of what would have been our Commencement Mass; unfortunately, that had to be postponed this year. I look forward to gathering as a school in prayer and reflection for the first time as Director of Mission and Faith.

We also have upcoming events regarding St Vincent de Paul and formation of a Vinnies Youth Group.  This group will undertake many activities of community service and fundraising whilst enjoying activities across the greater community.  I welcome any members of our school community (7-12) to join and involve themselves with faith in action.  Please see Miss Sophia Teis or Mr Johnstone for more details as we will be meeting regularly to plan activities across the school.  We will be starting our mission of community support with a Vinnies Winter appeal where we will be seeking donations or new items of winter clothing for those in need in our local community.  Items such as: gloves, blankets, beanies, scarves and jumpers would be greatly appreciated in the donation drive.  Once again, we will be donating items into each house groups wheelie bin at the student entrance. I thank you all in advance for your participation in this fantastic appeal.  Further information around start time will be posted on the school news pages in the upcoming week.

Vinnies Community Sleep Out: This year Marist Regional College will be hosting the Vinnies Community Sleepout.  This will coincide with the Winter Appeal and help our school community come together to sleep rough for one night.  This experience will be supported by Vinnies Burnie with the Vinnies Food Van being utilised for the evening to provide an authentic experience for all involved. More information can be found by clicking the link below and information sessions will be held at school in the coming weeks.  This event will be open for Year 10, 11 and 12 students and all staff are welcome.
