Working out of the magnificent purpose-built Hairdressing Trade Training Centre at St Brendan Shaw College, we are offering a short skill set course in the dynamic profession of hair and beauty.
This course has been specifically designed to focus on hands-on delivery that blends creativity, technical skills, and interpersonal connections. This introductory course will provide students with an insight into the world of the Hairdressing Industry. Specifically designed for Year 11 and Year 12 students, this one-year program offers practical sessions including blow drying and styling, braiding, applying basic colour, and shampoo and basin services. The course also includes communication and working as part of a team, health and safety and retail knowledge.
Students have the opportunity to complete a short skill set course over one year and continue into the second year to complete the full qualification – SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant, should they be interested in a career pathway into the hairdressing field.
Further information will be provided on Subject Advice Evening on Tuesday 13 August. So, come along, and listen to a qualified hairdresser discuss 2025 course information.
