APPLYING FOR AN EXTENSION GUIDELINE
Where a student is unable to meet an assessment deadline due to known absences (e.g., illness, exceptional or unforeseen circumstances, or family commitment), students are expected to follow a new automated process called The Application for Extension process.
If a student requires an extension, it is expected that the student will apply at least 3 school days prior to the due date to the teacher who has set the work.
An extension can be denied on the following grounds:
- Lack of evidence of work done during the time given to complete
- Application for an extension is submitted within 3 days before the due date
- More than 2 requests for an extension have been made previously for this subject
LATE SUBMISSION OF WORK GUIDELINES
At Marist Regional College, student assessment is expected to be submitted by the due date set by the teacher. All assessments are expected to be completed, therefore, failure to submit work is not acceptable.
The aim of Academic Catch Up is to maintain as short a duration loop as possible between the due date/late submission and work submitted by the student with the support of the Academic Catch-Up Room so a classes work can be marked and returned in a timely manner.
