In Term 1, the Marist Esports Club held a Rocket League Competition with 16 competitors going head-to-head in group and knockout stages. In the final, Brodie Sinclair (Year 8) took on Balin Turley (Year 8) in a best of three series. Balin won the first match, but Brodie fought back to win the next two matches and was crowned Champion in our first ever official Esports Competition. Aneurin Reeves (Year 11) finished in 3rd place after comfortably defeating Rove Lockett (Year 11).
Starting on 28 May, Brodie (Team Captain), Balin and Aneurin will be competing the Acer High Schools Cup, a national esports competition for Australian High Schools. Keep an eye out for updates and live stream links on M.E.L.
Currently, the Marist Esports Club also has a creative Minecraft Challenge competition. Working individually or in teams, you are required to choose a landmark and create it in Minecraft. There will be a prize up for grabs for the best builds. Email Mr King, SKing@mrc.tas.edu.au for more information.
