As we come closer to the end of Term, we need to be mindful that we continue to adhere to College expectations both in and out of the classroom. This includes ensuring we are prepared for class before Pastoral Care, at the end of both recess and lunch to enable us to be at class ready and on task in a timely manner.

We also need to refer back to our College values of Respect and Responsibility – our actions in the classroom directly reflect how we live out these values every day in terms of how we interact with our peers and teachers.

Towards the end of this term our Year 10 students will undertake exams. Please find more information below.

It is a busy time for all, so we ask that we are mindful of the stresses of those around us and ensure we are living out the GEM ethos daily.

Year 10 Exams

Year 10 students will sit their exams during Week 10 on Wednesday 28 September and Thursday 29 September. Students have been issued with an exam timetable as per below, with Year 10 Exam Guidelines attached. Any student who is unable to sit their exams due to illness will be required to provide a doctor’s certificate to validate their absence as outlined in the guidelines.

Students must arrive and be present in Pastoral Care Group for attendance prior to sitting their exams.

Whilst we recognise this can be a stressful time for some, it is an opportunity for students to practice being in exam conditions and learn from this experience.

Year 10 students undertook a one-hour session on Wednesday 7 September called “Ace Your Exams” by Elevate Education which was designed to help students with preparation, managing stress and study tips. 97% of students said it was time well spent and that they would recommend the program.
