“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”

This statement sums up the attitude of our Year 7 students as they attended their school camp held at Riverbend recently. It was awesome to see how each one of them gave their best. The staff that attended also made positive comments about their determination, manners, and the way they supported one another in mixed groupings during the wide range of activities. It was very rewarding to see them take on responsibilities around the camp and work together as a team to get things done! What a terrific way to start off the school year, making new friendships and trying new things. Many laughs were had and memories that will last a lifetime were created. What a wonderful cohort of students…exciting things ahead.

Director of Middle School

This fortnight we have had a key focus on all of our school values, paying additional notice to three of them – Respect, Responsibility and Justice. Our focus on these values have been through conversations with staff regarding student behaviour. We have had issues with minor graffiti and damage around the school, students not adhering to our Uniform Policy, and students not signing-in or out correctly. Your support in ensuring your child is coming to school in their correct uniform and ensuring they sign-in and out will greatly support us.

It is paramount that we continue to strive to be the school of choice on the North-West Coast. By proudly wearing our uniform and maintaining a neat appearance, we set an example for the community. Many professions and sports teams require individuals to wear the appropriate uniform, and by adhering to these standards at Marist, we help our students understand the expectations they will face when they finish their schooling.

We have greatly appreciated families and students reaching out to staff regarding any issues that they have encountered so we can alleviate any concerns and continue to ensure Marist is a safe and supportive school environment. At times, during the school day, staff observe students discussing content that they have viewed online, outside of school hours, on platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram. One way to try and implement safety measures on these apps is through Parental Controls. This may ensure students are viewing content that is age appropriate, safe and respectful.
