A highlight this fortnight was the drawing of our Value Awards at last week’s Whole School Assembly. The Year 12’s had a whopping 30 + value cards to draw from which shows the fabulous start they have had in their final year of schooling at Marist Regional College. With our SRC striving to make the most of their last year by working with their peers on the presentation of their uniform, it is creating a fantastic environment for our younger students.

We are fortunate to have a high level of compliance with our school uniform policy. Students who frequently wear full school uniform are demonstrating pride in our school, increasing their safety by being easily identifiable, promoting equality amongst their peers, and building good habits to be ready for learning when they arrive to school. A key focus for us this fortnight has been ensuring students are proud to wear their uniform and ensure they wear their blazer to and from school. A message will be relayed over the P.A. system if the weather is deemed too hot to wear the blazer by the relevant Director (generally over 22 degrees Celsius).

As we are getting into the full routine of school and the weather drops in temperature, many families have started taking holidays. A reminder that any holiday needs to be approved by our Principal, Mr Shayne Kidd and requests need to be made in writing to principal@mrc.tas.edu.au. This is available on Page 4 of our Attendance Absence Policy:  MRC – Attendance Absence Policy 2020.docx

With just a few weeks remaining for the term, we look forward to continuing (or beginning) building healthy habits as we approach the colder months. We hope our students can focus not only on their schooling but also on their emotional, physical, mental, social, and spiritual wellbeing, helping them to become the best version of themselves.

Yours in partnership,

Mr Aaron Humphrey

Director of Senior School
