NSATIS Sport

The NSATIS basketball season has passed the halfway point, with all teams performing well. The Girls 1st and Boys 2nd are both sitting 3rd on the ladder, whilst the Boys 1st sit in 4th. The Girls 1st and Boys 2nd have 3 more weeks to go until finals and are both in the hunt for the 1st vs 2nd final opportunity. The Boys 1st have a bye for the last round next week but look set to retain the 4th position and play the 1st ranked team in the semi-final.

Some notable individual performances include Matthew Vincent (39 points), Bailie Wickham (31 points), and Jobe Pringle (28 points).

Our NSATIS Tennis teams are still enjoying a gap in their roster, having played no games over the last fortnight.

Swimming Carnival

We held our Swimming Carnival last week with some fantastic swimming across the board and a great spread of House cheer and colours. Age group champions and the winning House has been calculated, with all competitions very close after the two days. The winners will be announced in the next school assembly.

Congratulations to the U13 Girls McAuley relay team (Izzie Heyworth, Hayley Dale, Charlotte Cornell, and Indi Stones) who broke the school record previous held by the 2004 McAuley relay team. The new record now stands at 2:28.02.

Special mention also to the Staff relay team who held out a strong SRC team to take the chocolates.

Our next carnival will be the Athletics Carnival which will be held on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th March. The 3000m event will be held prior, during lunchtime on Thursday 13th March. Signups for the 3000m are still open in the Harcombe Centre foyer and all entries will accumulate points for your House Athletics Carnival results.

NSATIS Athletics

Trials have been carried out this week for our NSATIS Athletics team who will travel to St Leonards on 18th March. Teams will be selected from both trials and PE results in the coming week. Students who did not attend for trials but have performed well in their PE classes will be offered the opportunity to represent the College.

As in previous years, we would be grateful for any donations of running spikes for students who do not possess their own, to help maximise their performance opportunities. Donations can be made at the office or by contacting the Head of Sport.
