NSATIS Sport

The NSATIS Tennis teams made their long-awaited return to competition last week. Both the Boys 1st (6-0) and Girls 1st (4-2) teams opened their season with wins against St Patrick’s in Launceston with the boys dropping just 2 games for the day. The Boys 2nds travelled to Devonport to take on St Brendan’s, going down 0-6, with two tie breaks needed to settle matches. This week’s games were cancelled due to the storms.

The NSATIS Basketball teams enjoyed a week off last week. Girls 1st have 2 games left for the season, with finals now out of reach. Boys 1st travelled to Launceston Church Grammar this week, unfortunately going down (63-51) ending their season. Boys 2nd defeated top placed Leighland Christian School (80-73) this week and have one more game left.

Notable individual performances Matthew Vincent (27 points) and Grayson Boxhall (27 points).

We wish Wylie Jackson good luck in his single scull at the Head of the River rowing event at Lake Barrington on Saturday (15 March).

There is still time to sign up for Term 2 sports including SATIS Football (Girls & Boys Years 9-12), BNA Netball (Mixed), Hockey (Boys & Girls), Junior Soccer (Year 7-8).   Badminton nominations have closed, with more information to follow to those students. Any student interested in NWJFU Football (Years 7-10) who did not nominate, please see Mr Burr.
