Congratulations to Jacob Stretton who was awarded ‘best on ground’ and all students and staff for their efforts during the season.

Final score:

MRC: 20.5: 125

Girls AFL Gala Days

The Year 7/8 Girls AFL Gala Day took place here at MRC on Thursday 11 August, with approximately 20 students in Years 7/8 participating. Although the weather was not great, all the students really enjoyed themselves with this being the first time a number of them have played. To top everything off, the girls went through undefeated on the day! A big thank you to Year 12 students, Shania Saward and Miah Nation for coaching the girls.

The Year 9/10 Girls AFL Gala Day will take place here at MRC on Thursday 25 August – all the best to the students involved.

North-West Catholic Representative Football

On Monday 22 August, twenty-two MRC football players travelled to Launceston to play in the NW Catholic Representative Football Team. This is a two-game series in which the teams play Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston and at Dial Park, Penguin (Monday 19 September).

The teams are combined of MRC & St Brendan Shaw College students to create a Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 Rep Team. This is a great opportunity for selected students to experience high quality football as well as a taste of SATIS Senior School Football. Students are selected purely from their performances in the High School Football Roster held during Term 2, with this being something players should strive for in the future.

NSATIS Sport Rosters

In Week 4, all NSATIS Sport teams travelled to Launceston to play St Patrick’s College. With Marist coming away with wins in the Boys Hockey and Girls Soccer! Week 5 sees all teams (Netball, Soccer & Hockey) travel to Launceston again to take on Scotch Oakburn College.

NSATIS Athletics

NSATIS Athletics is fast approaching, with the carnival taking place at the Penguin Athletics Track on Thursday 8 September. Many students have been training hard and are looking forward to the meet, with MRC looking to perform very strongly on the day.
