The online subject selections portal is now open for all students in Years 7 to 11All students have been given a Subject Selection Guide and the log in details to Web Preferences.

Students in Years 7 to 10 study the core subjects of English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Science, HPE and ReligionOutside of these, students have a choice of the subjects they participate in.  These are called Electives.

In each group of electives in the Subject Guide, students select their preference, the elective he or she most wants to do, and a reserve, an elective he or she is happy to do if they do not get their preference for some reason.

The reality is that not every student will get their preference in every group.  Elective classes have varying size limits. It is important, then, that consideration is given to reserve electives.  Many electives have a ‘waiting list’.  This means that if a space becomes available, students on the waiting list will be offered that place.

Once allocated electives have been issued, requests can be made to change an elective.  The deadline for change requests is the end of Week 3 in Term 1, 2021. Requests must be made by parents/guardians to the dedicated email: subjectqueries@mrc.tas.edu.au

Sometimes, changes can be made to subject groupings.  This may mean that the table in the Subject Guide is no longer accurate.  The most up to date information, and any news relevant to subject selections can be found on MEL: https://mel.mrc.tas.edu.au/homepage/4652

If you experience any difficulties with the online process, or have any queries, please contact Mrs Sharni Hall: shall@mrc.tas.edu.au
