In week 4, Year 7 students embarked on camp with 7D, E and F attending from Monday to Wednesday, and 7A, B and C attending from Wednesday to Friday.

Year 7 Camp provides students and staff with an opportunity to bond and get to know each other better. On camp, students compete in Team and a Trivia Challenges with the winning team collecting a small prize and bragging rights. Teams are made up of boys and girls and at least two students per class to promote teamwork. The Team Challenge winners on Camp 1 were The Squad, and Dino Nuggets won on Camp 2.

This year we had a change in program and attended an excursion on Tuesday and Thursday with the Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation on Country. This provided students with an opportunity to explore how First Nations people lived in this area. Students finished the day with a series of activities at Green Point including making kelp baskets, clap sticks and painting rocks.

It has been a pleasure for us to take the Year 7’s on camp this year. We would like to thank all the staff who attended camp over the course of the week. Without their dedication, events like this cannot run.

We look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with students over the course of this year.
