Last week all Year 7’s had the opportunity to attend a two-night camp at Riverbend Youth Centre in Smithton. 7A, B and C attended from Monday to Wednesday, and 7D, E and F attended from Wednesday to Friday.

Year 7 Camp provides students with an opportunity to make new friends and to form bonds as a year level. Students worked in teams to complete challenges such as thong throwing, egg and spoon agility and frisbee golf, to win a prize. The team prize was their inclusion in the Pizza Lunch in Term 2. All students were present on Wednesday for lunch and participated in class challenges.

Students also explored what it means to be ‘Marist’ through our retreat program which involved activities such as Prayer Spaces, the Labyrinth and a Reflection Walk.

Events like this do not run without the dedication of our staff who are willing to be away from their own families and loved ones to provide students with this opportunity. To all staff who attended camp, thank you so much for your time and energy. I appreciated it, and so did our Year 7s.
