Dear Marist Regional College Families,

As we approach the mid-year break, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our school community for their unwavering and ongoing support and dedication.

Big Freeze Event Success

Our SRC held the Big Freeze event last Friday, which was a resounding success. Thanks to the generous contributions and enthusiastic participation from both staff and students, we raised over $5000! This fantastic achievement highlights the spirit of our community and our commitment to supporting worthy causes. A special thank you to our SRC for organising this event, to all who donated, and to our brave sliders who made the day unforgettable.

Senior College Scholarships for 2025

Applications are now open for Senior College Scholarships for the 2025 year. We encourage current students, as well as external applicants who are seeking an outstanding Senior College experience, to apply.

For more information and to apply, please visit Senior College Scholarships. If you know any families considering a move to our college, please share this link with them and encourage a College Tour. Places exist in the Senior Years due to our commitment to offer a breadth of subject offerings.

Year Seven Enrolment Applications for 2025

A reminder that Year Seven enrolment applications for 2025 close on 19 July 2024.

Due to high demand, with over 200 applicants for only 168 positions, we regret that we will be unable to accept late enrolments. Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Please ensure your applications are submitted promptly to secure a place, even if you have older siblings already at the College.

Technology Centre Development

We are excited to announce that the development of our new Technology Centre is imminent, with the tender process nearing completion. This project promises to enhance our students’ learning experiences, particularly in design and technology. We eagerly anticipate the opportunities this new facility will bring.

Students will commence their learning for Materials, Design and Technology in our newly built temporary classrooms next term. These will be an excellent ongoing College resource for the future.

Acknowledging Our Dedicated Staff

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our teaching staff. The notion that teachers “knock off” at 3:00pm is far from reality. Our teachers are tirelessly committed to providing the best education for our students, often working well beyond school hours. They are well supported by the community, and I encourage you to reach out with a short email to thank them for their efforts and dedication.

Fees

Do you need any help with fees? Please reach out to me if you do. We are always here to help.

Thank you all for your continued support. I wish everyone an enjoyable remaining fortnight of Term 2.

Yours in family, faith, love, and solidarity,

Gregg Sharman
