Dear Marist Regional College Families,

Over the last few months, I have been promising a College community survey. I can share with you that this will be sent out on 9 September. Please keep an eye out for this. As mentioned in yesterday’s College Assembly, a survey will also be provided for students, as well as staff.

The parent survey is designed to assist us in gaining an understanding of how you perceive your child’s experience at school.  The results will benefit everyone at Marist Regional College by providing valuable information about the ways in which we can use staff, student, and parent input to plan programs and activities to improve your child’s experience at school.

Although we strongly encourage you to participate, your participation is voluntary. It is important to remember, however, that the success of this important project is dependent on parents’ involvement. Please provide us with an opportunity to be affirmed, as well as to direct us to potential “blind spots” or areas for growth that you might consider.

The College has a very clear Strategic Direction formulated throughout 2023 and released earlier in Term One, 2024. Our previous formal College survey played a role in the formulation of this Strategic Direction, as we discerned the input from our community through the data received, as well as workshopping with students, staff and the College Advisory Board involvement.

I see this survey being completed annually over the next three years. It will give us an opportunity to test our assumptions and progress against the goals we have previously established. I am very much looking forward to exploring the data and communicating back to you in Term 4.

As Father’s Day approaches, we want to take a moment to celebrate all the incredible fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our community.

Best wishes as we work our way towards the end of Term Three, and “business time” for our Senior College students in particular!

Warm regards,

Gregg Sharman
