Mid-Year Reports & Parent Teacher Feedback Meeting

All Year levels have been issued their Mid-Year Reports which are now available via the Parent MEL Portal (https://mel.mrc.tas.edu.au/) or the MEL app.

Your username is in the format of surname.firstname. If required, your password can be reset from the MEL login page (you need a valid mobile number & email address on record with the school to do this).

Once logged in, you can access your child’s report via the “Academic Reports” button.

Report Queries

If you have any queries regarding your child’s report, please direct this to the teacher in the first instance, followed by the relevant Head of Department or Learning Area Leader. Detailed subject and task specific feedback is available on your child’s MEL class pages.

Parent Teacher Feedback Meetings

Parent Teacher Feedback Meetings will be held on Tuesday, 6 August from 3:30pm – 6:00pm. Meeting appointments are made by visiting www.schoolinterviews.com.au. Detailed instructions on how to book are on MEL news. The meeting time allocation is 10 minutes. If you require longer with a teacher, please make an alternative appointment for another day.

Your attendance at Parent Teacher Feedback Meetings sends a powerful message to your child about the value you place on their education. If, in the Mid-Year Report, a teacher has indicated ‘Interview required’, we ask that you please make every effort to attend a meeting to discuss any concerns the teacher may have regarding your child’s progress in that subject.

Next Steps following Subject Advice Evening

Thursday 15 August – Subject Selection Portal Opens

Students will be emailed a unique link during Pastoral Care time which takes them to an online subject selection platform (Web Preferences).

Students can do their preferences at this time or choose to do this at home. Students should select electives (including reserves) in order of preference. This is important as subjects are assigned according to this order.

NOTE: You can only enter your selections twice, so make sure you have a clear plan before you start.

Sunday 18 August – Subject Selection Portal Closes

Students should print two copies of the online subject selection receipt (one to keep).

By Monday 19 August – Subject Selection Receipt due to Pastoral Care Group Leader

Students should please:

  • Hand in one copy of the Subject Selection Receipt to your PCGL.
  • Sign the receipt yourself.
  • Have your parent/guardian sign the receipt as well.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 13 August.
