Congratulations to Penny Tassicker who will be representing Australia at the International Chemistry Olympiad from 21 to 30 July 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

After her success in the qualifying exams and intensive training at the Australian Science Olympiad Summer School at ANU in January, Penny was awarded the highly coveted place on the team.

The announcement was made at Parliament House in Canberra on the 24 June. During the presentation, guest speakers commented that talent alone does not achieve such heights of success; it must be fostered and requires tenacity and fortitude. This is something Penny has always demonstrated, even from Year 7.

It is an amazing feat to be representing her country, again. We wish Penny the best of luck alongside her three teammates at the International Chemistry Olympiad in 2024. You are an inspiration to us all!
