This week, Packages of Learning students attended the Grange/Savage River Mines Port Latta site for a work exposure experience.  The company regularly takes on apprentices in the Fitting/Turning, Boilermaker/Welding, Mechanical, and Electrical occupations. Students were fully briefed on the mine’s operation from Savage River Concentration Plant to Port Latta where Magnetite Iron Ore is pelletised and loaded onto ships for export mainly to China, Korea, and mainland Australia.  Students were also offered the opportunity to engage in work placements at Savage River Mine and Port Latta operations in the coming months. A special thank you to Tristan and Tony at Grange for giving our students an outstanding guided tour and information workshop.
