The National Broadband Network (NBN) is facilitating a wonderful program to assist students who do not have access to the internet at home and connect them to the NBN for one year. Students can be in contention for the School Student Broadband Initiative if they meet the required criteria.

  1. Be enrolled in an Australian school in 2023
  2. Not have an active NBN network internet service at home. Having a mobile internet service does not affect eligibility
  3. Be referred by a nominating organisation
  4. Live in premises that can access the NBN network

Please note that Federal Members of Parliament qualify as a nominating organisation, therefore, interested and eligible students are encouraged to take advantage of Gavin Pearce MP’s ability to nominate them. This initiative is open for nominations until 30 April 2024.

If this is something you could benefit from, simply email Gavin Pearce MP at gavin.pearce.mp@aph.gov.au and advise your interest and indicate Mr Sharman as the contact at school. His office will then return your contact and start the process.

In the meantime, if you require further information, please do not hesitate to call Gavin Pearce MP’s office on 6431 1333 or email.
