Senior College VISUAL ART 2 students were recently introduced to the approach of APPROPRIATION, through the method of REDUCTION LINO PRINTING.
WHAT IS A REDUCTION LINOCUT PRINT?
The reduction lino cut is a method of block printing in which each colour layer is taken from the same block. More lino is removed from the block for each layer and each colour is printed on top of the last.
As you can observe, the students chose a portrait as the image to print, whilst keeping in mind the work of Andy Warhol as our APPROPRIATION artist of choice.
