The MRC NWJFU 7/8 Girls team finished their season in style, taking out the coastal Grand Final last week. As the Eastern conference winners, Ulverstone District were the opponents, and it was a fast, physical, and highly skilled game played by both teams. After MRC jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter through goals from Piper Sharman, Ulverstone fought back to make it tight at half time. Strong second half performances by Best on Ground, Layla Maine, and teammates, Astania Cheptanaru and Ebony French helped the girls overcome Ulverstone’s challenge to bring home the trophy, 45 to 27.

Many thanks to Coach Ms Shania Saward, and Mrs Renee French for assistance with the team throughout the season, as well as the families who came along to support the team.
