Boys NWJFU Football

Congratulations to the 9/10 Boys team (1st in Western Conference) and the Year 8 Boys team (2nd in Western Conference), who have qualified for the coastal finals.

The 9/10 Boys team were undefeated throughout their roster and will host Ulverstone Secondary College in the coastal semi-final.

In the 7/8 Western final, MRC hosted Burnie High School. It was a tight game, with MRC up by 1 point at half time. Burnie kicked 4 unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to put a gap in the game the MRC team couldn’t make up. They will play away at the top team in the Eastern conference.

At the time of writing, we are waiting for confirmation of semi-final day, time, and place for both teams, and this will be communicated to students and families when finalised.

Girls NWJFU Football (Years 8 – 10)

We are waiting on confirmation from AFL Tasmania for final details, but it looks like there will be a short home-and-away ‘Western roster’ during term 3. Games will be played mid-week. More information will be sent to students and families when available. Students completed sign ups during Term 2, and any student missing these sign-ups, can speak to Mr Lutwyche or Mr Little in the Harcombe Centre to have their name added to the list.

Boys Junior NSATIS Soccer

Well done on a great season to our 7/8 Boys Junior NSATIS Soccer team. Unfortunately, they went down 4-3 in their final game against SBSC, but it was a strong first season, where they finished third on the ladder.

Thank you to parents Mr de Jonge, Mr Jones, and Mr Davis, as well as teacher Ms Stirrat, for looking after the team and making the season possible.

NSATIS and SATIS Swimming – Term 3

Selection for the representative swimming events is based off student performance in the Term 1 MRC Swimming Carnival. Students may be required to confirm events with Mr Lutwyche if they are selected in multiple events. Please put the following dates in your calendar, with students selected for these carnivals to receive communication and information early in Term 3.

NSATIS Swimming (Launceston) – Tuesday 27 August

SATIS Swimming (Hobart) – Wednesday 18 September
