According to Wikipedia, “Empathy is generally described as the ability to take on another’s perspective, to understand, feel and possibly share and respond to their experience. There are more definitions of empathy that include but is not limited to social, cognitive, and emotional processes primarily concerned with understanding others.”

“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”

This sums up the attitude of our Year 7 students as they attended their school camp held at Camp Banksia recently. It was awesome to see how each one of them gave their best. The staff that attended made positive comments about their determination, manners, and the way they got around and supported one another in all the mixed groupings as they participated in the wide range of activities.

It was very rewarding to see students take on responsibilities around the camp and work together as a team to get things done! What a terrific way to start off the school year, making new friendships and trying new things. Many laughs were had, and memories were created that will last a lifetime. What a wonderful cohort of students…exciting things lie ahead.
