Winter Appeal

This week is the last week of our Winter Appeal supporting the St Vincent de Paul

organisation in our local community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those

who have donated items or money for items to be bought, it is greatly appreciated. I have

been extremely proud of the effort of many members of our student body and staff who

have supported the cause by bringing in items that will help families in our local community. I strongly believe this shows how important actioning our faith is, and that our College community can support those in our community that need help at this tough time of the year.

We will be handing over the items on Friday night during our Community Sleepout. Representatives of St Vincent De Paul will be here at the College for the handover, and I know they are excited about what this will do for our local community. We have nearly filled 4 wheelie bins full of clothing with Frayne

currently in the lead. Year 7/8 gear is yet to be added to the bins for collection, so I look

forward to the final house competition results.

 Community Sleepout

Friday 24 June has come around very quickly. We have 54 extremely keen students

and 10 staff who are ready to brave the conditions for the night.

We are all looking forward to spending the evening together and doing it tough, to bring about understanding of those who do it tough each night and do not have a home to go to. The evening is planned with a shared meal provided by Vinnies and the Vinnies Van, guest speaker and reflection activities which will enable us all to think more deeply about what the experience means.

I would personally like to thank all those students and staff who have supported the sleepout and hope

everyone enjoys the night and the experience. We will share a meal together in the

morning for breakfast, and I’m sure a coffee or two for staff. Look out for the photos to come

over the next few weeks.
