This year, Leadership Day was held at St Brendan-Shaw College, where twenty-one of our Year 10s had the opportunity to learn traits that make good leaders and the impact these leaders can have on the world. Across three spilt sessions, students had the chance to work with unfamiliar faces, challenging them to find patience and build resilience, all qualities of great leaders. After morning tea, students were introduced to several charity organisations including Caritas, where Leanne Prichard, Catholic Identity and Evangelisation Officer from Catholic Education Tasmania, explained to students the work behind Caritas and the important impacts it has on the community. Caritas Project Compassion left many inspired and encouraged students to conclude the day working out how we as a school can plan fundraising, spread awareness, and reach out to our local communities.
