“The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today!”

As Term 1 draws to a close, it is great to look back and reflect on what has been. I am amazed by the positive start we have had in the Middle Years; the students have certainly been doing their BEST! In conversation with some pastoral care staff in Year 7, I asked them to jot down their reflections of Term 1, 2024 at Marist Regional College:

As a first-time pastoral care teacher at Marist, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the students in Year 7A. They have started their high school journey in such a positive manner, their enthusiasm and willingness to learn new things and put themselves out of their comfort zone has been amazing to watch. It has been lovely to see new friendships develop over the term and a real team spirit develop. Their participation in camp early in the term is to be commended, and then to see so many taking part in all the events at the athletics carnival is testament to the fantastic group of young people that they are. It is going to be exciting to watch this group as they progress through Marist, they are a wonderful group of people to work with and I feel quite privileged to be part of the beginning of their journey. Mrs R Leaver, 7A

This year’s Grade 7 cohort are unreal, such a fun and respectful bunch! They have made a great start to the year.  Mrs R Bomford, 7E

An absolutely incredible start to the year by all Year 7’s. The vibe, work ethic, and the way the students are conducting themselves has blown me away. IMAGINE WHERE WE WILL BE AT THE END OF THE YEAR!!! Students are polite, generally trying their best (but we can always seek to improve, no matter what), and are treating all within our college with respect. Proud of the whole Year 7 cohort. Mr T King, 7F

I have had an incredible start to the year with an excellent group of young adults. They have set the standards high with their manners, efforts, drive, and commitment to both learning and the College values. I am looking forward to the rest of the year! I am so blessed to be working with such an outstanding cohort. Miss A Seaton, 7C
