During the month of October, Samaritan’s Purse run an annual mission appeal called Operation Christmas Child. This year, students and staff were given the opportunity to pack a box that would be sent off and given to children all across the world who may not experience the joy of receiving during Christmas time. Due to the incredible efforts by staff and students at the College, we were able to fill 37 boxes packed with toys, hygiene products, school supplies, and more. This would not have been achievable without the incredible support of Wendy and her amazing Burnie/Wynyard team, who helped to coordinate this whole process.

A special thank you also to Mr Mark Spurr and the Year 8 cohort, especially Ashleigh, Charlotte, Zahli, Claire, Sarah, Lily, Emily, Ella, and Lucia, who spent much of their time filling, checking, and securing boxes. Our amazing Year 8’s were able to fill 34 of the 37 boxes that were collected. What an amazing effort, well done! Thank you to Pastoral Care Leaders, especially Mr Richard Holwill and Ms Ann Roberts, who also encouraged their class to fill a box for this important cause. These boxes will make a huge difference to many children’s lives all across the world, bringing happiness and hope to those who need it most.
