As we embark on the final stretch of the year, it’s a chance for us to celebrate the resilience and persistence demonstrated by our staff and students. 2023 has been a productive year on many fronts for Pastoral Care and Wellbeing in the College. This included the continuation of the GEM Program, further development with behaviour supports and many exceptional educational opportunities in the social/emotional space. There have been many positives for us to take forward into 2024.

It has been fantastic to celebrate the school year over the past week with all students, through year level retreats and camps. Our 2024 Student Representative Council and House Leaders attended the JCP Leadership Camp at Camp Clayton, learning exciting new leadership skills ready to take on their roles next year. I was amazed at the attitude and effort put into the activities and I am looking forward to the exciting things that will happen with this group in 2024.

School holidays can be a tough time for some students, when out of routine they might find themselves needing a little extra care. I encourage students to reach out to their immediate support network and if they need additional supports, contact Lifeline on 13 14 11 or Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, students and wider school community for being supportive in my first year as the Deputy Principal Pastoral Care and Wellbeing; you have made this year extremely enjoyable, and I cannot wait to see what 2024 brings. We are fortunate to all be involved in such a fantastic school and I look forward to working with you again next year.  Have a wonderful Christmas break, enjoy the Summer and I look forward to 2024!
