A quick guide to mindfulness and meditation from The Resilience Project

Mindfulness and meditation are often put forward as solutions to our stresses and anxiety – but what exactly is mindfulness and meditation, how do they differ, and what are some tips to get started?

“Responsibility is accepting that you are the cause and the solution of the matter.”

Welcome to the weekend! Over the last two weeks in Middle Years, we have been focusing on the value of responsibility. Encouraging students to own their choices and take responsibility for their appearance. We have spoken about uniform, jewellery, and responsible mobile phone storage whilst at school.

It is so impressive having these conversations with students and hearing them respond in such a positive manner. They know the rules. Students want to be seen as doing the ‘right’ thing and deserve recognition for their efforts. Students are responsible for their behaviour and their learning. If we want young people to behave responsibly, we must first teach them to think responsibly

I see a lot of great things happening in both McAuley and Chanel, and I look forward to celebrating more achievements over the remainder of the term.
