Congratulations to the seventy-two MRC representatives at the recent NSATIS Athletics Carnival. There were some outstanding results from students at the carnival held at Penguin Athletic Centre. Particularly noteworthy performances were by the 3 MRC record breakers at the event in Cameron B (Year 7, 1500m), Jayla O (Year 7, 100m and 200m) and Zahli W (400m and 1500m). Thank you to the students and parents who came along to support our student-athletes on the day. It was great to see school spirit on display.

We are still seeking donations of old running spikes! If you have some unused ones lying around home that are no longer needed, please contact the Harcombe Centre via the MRC Office.

Term 1 NSATIS Sport continues with all our Tennis teams remaining undefeated, all having defeated Scotch Oakburn this week. The Girls and Boys 1sts will host a home Semi-Final, with the 2nds Boys hoping to secure the same with a win against Launceston Grammar next week.

The Boys 1sts Basketball also remain undefeated, having defeated St Patrick’s, and will host the NSATIS final early in Term 2, whilst the Girls 1sts team will play local rival SBSC in the NSATIS Final also early in Term 2 as they will finish 2nd on the ladder. The Boys 2nds team will need results to go their way in the final game of the season to qualify for finals.

Preparation for Term 2 SATIS Football (Boys) and NSATIS Football (Girls) is well underway with training sessions and programs distributed to students. These are senior 9 – 12 competitions.
