NSATIS Tennis

Congratulations to our Boys 1sts NSATIS Tennis team, who kept their undefeated streak going, winning the NSATIS Final against Launceston Church Grammar 5 rubbers to 1. They will take on Hutchins in the SATIS final in Burnie, taking place early in Term 2.

Congratulations also to our Girls 1sts NSATIS Tennis team, who went back-to-back over Scotch Oakburn, winning the final 4 rubbers to 2. The Girls team also were undefeated for the second year straight. Their final will come against a to-be-determined opponent from the South in Term 2.

It has been a significantly busy sporting finish to Term 1, with our major Swimming and Athletics events taking place. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff involved in delivering the carnivals – it is a whole-of-school effort to put on such significant events.

It was excellent to see strong participation numbers across Year 7 and 8 in the Athletics Carnival, with the most participants hitting the track in recent memory. There were excellent performances across both days, with fine weather helping a massive 14 records broken!

The overall winners, as well as Track and Field Champions were presented in front of a whole school assembly on the final day of term 2. Please scroll to the bottom for these results.

MSA Basketball

Thank you to the staff and students who represented MRC at the recent Marist Schools Basketball tournament on the Gold Coast. The Boys had an excellent tournament, losing in the Quarter Final to the eventual champions. and the Girls, despite two one-basket losses, had an excellent week. The 2024 edition of the tournament will take place in Melbourne.

Term 2 Sports

Some information may be emailed to students and parents during the holidays regarding sport and events that take place early in Term 2. I encourage students to keep an eye on emails if possible. Most sport will start in Week 2 of Term 2.
