Congratulations to all students who recently competed in the MRC Swimming and Athletics Carnivals.

Excellent conditions greeted our swimmers at the Burnie Aquatic Centre, but the same can’t be said for Day 1 of the Athletics Carnival, where students battled winds and rain. Students pushed through the tough conditions posting some excellent participation and performance results. Thank you to those staff who assisted in delivering an excellent event, and also to the parents who came along to support our students. Final results and grade champions for both events will be announced at an upcoming assembly.

NSATIS Term 1 sport continues with finals starting soon. Our Boys 1sts Basketball team sits atop the ladder after a win at home over Scotch Oakburn last week. The 1sts Girls also recorded a win over Scotch Oakburn whilst the 2nds Boys team had a bye.

Our NSATIS 1sts Boys and Girls Tennis teams both remain undefeated with 2 games left in the season. The girls have lost just 10 games (and won 123!) and the Boys 2nds sit second on the ladder having lost a narrow match on countback to Launceston Grammar. All Tennis teams will have NSATIS finals in the coming weeks.

SATIS Term 2 sport sign-ups have opened for interested students with Australian Rules Football (Boys and Girls) taking place. Students who placed in the Athletics events should keep an eye out for information about NSATIS Athletics selection. The NSATIS event will be held in Launceston on Tuesday 28 March, with the SATIS event (for qualifying students) the week following.

Other Term 2 sign-ups for upcoming opportunities to represent the College are also available in all-schools Futsal and Mountain Bike events.
