SATIS Athletics wrapped up a busy Term One of representative sport. Congratulations to all students who represented the College with distinction at the event. We particularly acknowledge the outstanding performances of Chelsea Scolyer who broke the Girls Open 100m record, and the U16 Boys team who claimed the Championship pennant for their age group. Other outstanding individual results included 1st place event finishes from Bowen Clemons (Shot Put U16), Jack Latham (3000m Open), Pirri Barnes (400m U15), Masimba Chindewere (400m and Long Jump U15) and Ashley Fehlberg (1500m U15).

The Boys 1sts Basketball (Guilford Young), Boys (Guilford Young) and Girls (Collegiate) 1sts Tennis teams travelled to Hobart to compete for the SATIS finals on Thursday.

SATIS (Boys) and NSATIS (Girls) Football teams start their respective seasons this week with the Boys travelling to Campbell Town to play Guilford Young, and the Girls hosting Launceston Grammar. The season continues throughout Term 2.

The Year 7-10 NWJFU Boys Football starts in week 4 with significant interest received from those wishing to represent the College across all grades. Games take place throughout Term Two, after school, starting at 3.30pm (unless travelling to Smithton or Queenstown). Information and fixtures have been sent home with students who have indicated interest. If any parents/guardians are interested in helping out as an assistant coach, umpire, or any other team help role, please contact Mr Thomas Lutwyche. All volunteers require a valid WWVP card.

Finally, best of luck to those students representing MRC in the upcoming All Schools events in Futsal, Mountain Biking and Surfing.

Mr Thomas Lutwyche
