Congratulations is extended to Nichola Williams (Year 11) who was awarded an International Intel Science and Engineering Fair Award for Community Innovation. The award comprises a certificate of achievement from ISEF Washington, USA, and $500 US. It is in recognition of Nichola having produced the best project from Australia for dealing with a community problem (heavy metal ions [copper ions] in drinking water) and her design of an effective STEM-based method of their removal.

Nichola is also a Marist Regional College ‘Student STEM Leader’, and in this role, she acts as an ambassador for STEM activities among students at the College and beyond.

Well done, Nichola, on this terrific accomplishment and every success with this year’s research!
