All VET courses are now live on the MEL portal for parents, guardians and students. I am currently going into every Year 9 Pastoral Care Group to discuss Vocational Education and Training Introductory Courses available for students to choose as part of their Year 10 electives. Although the information sessions are brief, I have the opportunity to talk about the Tasmanian Certificate of Education and how VET points can add towards the total 120 points needed for students to successfully complete their TCE at the end of Year 12. Further, these informative sessions allow students the opportunity to consider many different pathways, styles of learning and competency-based training. Next year, we are excited about the Introductory VET courses on offer as we have designed and developed 5 different types of taster courses, including:
Introduction to Automotive
Introduction to Construction
Introduction to Baking and Kitchen Operations
Introduction to Hospitality
Introduction to Music
